How Cleat Covers Saved My Cleats (and My Car): A Weekend Soccer Story
A couple of weeks ago, my friend Pat complained about the bad state of his cleats during our usual Saturday morning soccer training. Shortly after the training, he noticed that I went to where we all parked our rides. He saw that the first thing I did was pull a pair of cleat covers from the boot and fasten them on before walking on the sidewalks up to the nearby McDonald's restaurant.
Pat gave me a puzzled look and asked, “What’s that on your cleats?”
I chuckled and told him, “These are cleat covers”
I told him how they help protect the cleats from wear and tear when walking on pavement—and more importantly, how they stop mud, dirt, and stones from getting lodged in the studs.
“Plus,” I said, “they save your car mats from all the post-training mess.”
Pat was convinced. “Man, I need to get a pair,” he said. I forwarded the website URL to him on Whatsapp to check through for his preferred cleats covers
Later that week, he sent me a text with a screenshot from Cleatskins. He’d just ordered the red & black pair.
For a couple of weeks now, Pat’s been singing Cleatskin’s praises.
He told me, “These things have kept my cleats looking like new—and they’ve made it way easier to get from the car to the pitch and back without wrecking the studs or tracking mud everywhere.”
Whether you’re heading from home to the field or grabbing a post-match bite, cleat covers like these ones make the journey smoother—and your cleats last longer.

Just a regular weekend footballer who finally found a smart way to protect my cleats. This post is based on my personal experience with Cleatskins, and how it helped not just me—but my teammate too.
